What is a Spike Barrier?
A Spike Barrier is a security device designed to deter unauthorized vehicles at parking entrances, exits, checkpoints, and military and law enforcement facilities. Its purpose is to ensure one-way traffic flow by using a spike mechanism that punctures the tires of vehicles attempting to go in the wrong direction. To prevent potential accidents, it is important to place warning signs, such as "One-Way Sign" and "Caution: Speed Bump Ahead," before the spike barrier.
How is a Spike Barrier Installed?
The installation of a spike barrier is carried out on asphalt or concrete surfaces using anchor bolts and screws. It is essential that the surface is even and free from gravel, sand, or soil. Additionally, installation of the spike barrier is not recommended within 2 meters of curves, both in front of and behind the bump. For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the Speed Bump Installation Guide prepared by the İleri Trafik Project Team.
How Are Spike Barrier Prices Determined?
The price of spike barriers varies based on the quality of their plastic bodies and steel components. Key factors influencing the price include the quality of the spring mechanism and the material composition of the plastic body.
What are the Technical Specifications for Spike Barriers?
Spike barriers are typically produced with dimensions of 50 x 60 cm and weigh over 7 kg. They are equipped with a safety mechanism that allows the spike feature to be disabled, enabling the barrier to function solely as a speed bump when necessary. The body is made of either PPC or metal. This versatile and durable product is designed to enhance traffic control and safety in high-security areas.
